Beth McNamara

Co-Founder / Co-Executive Director

Beth McNamara is a social worker, activist, and co-founder of Inspire Action for Social Change, where she serves as Co-Executive Director. Since 1987, Beth has worked with unwavering dedication to support families navigating trauma, harm, and the complexities of post-separation life. Her work is grounded in a deep belief that healing is possible—and that systems and organizations must be shaped by love, care, and enduring support.

Originally from a small Midwestern town and now rooted in Montana, Beth brings both humility and fire to her work. She is known for how she shows up: with fierce compassion for survivors, and with wholehearted support for the people and programs that walk alongside families every day. She is particularly committed to strengthening supervised visitation and safe exchange services, ensuring those working in the field feel equipped, encouraged, and connected to a larger vision of safety and justice.

Beth’s leadership is marked by generosity, deep listening, and a steady commitment to shared learning. A trusted collaborator and reflective leader, she uplifts the strengths of others, creates space for growth and renewal, and invites possibility even in the hardest moments. She holds firm to the idea that meaningful change happens in relationship with people, with purpose, and with care.

Throughout her career, Beth has authored and contributed to national publications, curricula, and training tools, and has designed and operated five supervised visitation and safe exchange programs. Her early work includes working in shelters, supporting children exposed to violence, answering crisis calls, and leading campus-based reform efforts around sexual assault. She has also worked in mental health and substance use services, always guided by the core values of love, care, and compassion.

Through Inspire Action, Beth continues to build spaces and strategies for healing, hope, and justice, deeply believing in a world where all families can thrive and all who serve them are supported.
