Developing and Enhancing a Supervised Visitation and Safe Exchange Program

Building an Enhanced Model of Supervised Visitation

Immersion Extension Training Package

Written by: Erin Fairchild, Beth McNamara, and Jennifer Rose

Inspire Action for Social Change in partnership with the Office on Violence Against Women has developed a take-home training package for visitation programs.

It is without question that the work of providing supervised visitation services is hard and requires a steady head and heart. At Inspire Action for Social Change, we know that learning and improving practice is not limited to single events and training. Still, it is the most dynamic and effective when it is continuous and occurs in relationships with our peers. Building an Enhanced Model of Supervised Visitation: Immersion Extension Training Package was designed to foster ongoing learning, connectedness, and enhanced practice in supervised visitation programs and includes everything you need to lead discussions, experiential learning exercises, and self-reflection activities.

The Immersion Extension Training Package has been designed so that it can be used as a staff enrichment training during your existing staff meetings, individually with staff members during one-on-one supervision meetings, or for more extended staff training or retreat functions.

Through partnership, care, and survivor-centered practice, Inspire helps communities create safe, healing-focused visitation and exchange services that interrupt post-separation abuse.
